Well, I can’t begin to tell you how much fun I had this year at the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival. I absolutely loved the new venue at William S. Hart Park, there is so much there to see and do, if you would like to learn more about click here William S. Hart park.
I not only found some really cool cowboy/girl items I wanted to purchase but I met some really incredible vendors. I had a great chat with Chris West of Chris West Originals, he takes old cowboy boots and magically turns them into beautiful one of a kind purses. I have been wanting to give him a pair of my dads boots for a while now, but I decided I would take him an old pair of my boots, a pair of boots that have lots of history with me, oh dear I feel a blog post coming, stay tuned.
Take a look at these cool signs made out of old license plates. I purchased one last year, still have not put it together…I know, I know but if you are inclined to here is the number to call. I don’t have the company name or person to contact, just tell them you heard about them from My Western Heart.
And look at this, more cowgirl shopping. Love the hat, and no I didn’t get another hat this year but if I was going to, this would be it!
These scarves are so attractive, they were flowing freely in the wind, have a great time. Another great thing about this years 2015 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival was all the shade and grass that Hart Park offered. Look at this, nice and cool and no dust, what’s not to like about that!
Sadly I am not able to do justice to all the wonderful talent that this festival had to offer. Sometimes life throws us a curve ball and we have to deal with it, I ended up missing the performers that I had tickets for but there is always next year. With that being said there is one performer that I always enjoy, Dave Thornbury, trick roper. He was actually pictured on this years 2015 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival leaflet throwing his rope. Giddy Up!
There was lots to great food to choose from but my heart was set on…the peach cobber. The dutch oven, cooked over hot coals, peach cobbler. The folks responsible for this melt in your mouth goodness are The Cowboy Cultural Committee and Chuckwagon Cooks. They are located in Visalia California and have been making the trek to the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival for years.
I had to top off my peach cobbler with some good old fashion, cooked in a pot, cowboy coffee, it that don’t get cha going, nothing will.
I have to say, I really had a grand time at Cowboy Festival despite my limited time and I can hardly wait to see what is in store for us next year. Thanks for riding along today, see you next time on Tales for the Trails
