Equest Fest 2014

Howdy Cowgirls and boys! This week My Western Heart was fortunate to attend Equest Fest 2014 a fantastic show of all the horses and riders that will participate in this years Rose Parade. It is like getting a sneak peak at all the wonderful equestrians of the Rose Parade

I wanted to share some photos with you. If I have miss spelled any names or made any mistakes with a riding units name, please speak up and I will correct it. I did my best to get everyone’s names correct. Here goes, enjoy the show.

The show ended with these gentle giants and in my eyes a real American Icon, the Budweiser Clydesdales Thanks for coming along and look for us at 2015 The Rose Parade, we will cheering these riders on! Next year if you are in the Los Angeles Area 3 days before The Rose Parade, I highly recommend going to Equest Fest. It was a fun, family friendly day with lots of interesting things to do and see! Comment now if you were part of this great event as a spectator or participant, we would love to hear from you.

Until Next Time Happy Trails!

Well Darlin you are just having too much fun! This is a great little write up on these fabulous equestrians of the Rose Parade, I am so excited to sit a watch from my warm toasty cabin on New Years day, I will have a better idea of who I am watching ride down Colorado Blvd. Good job cowgirl! See you next week!

Thanks Annie! We had an absolute blast at the Rose Parade! Despite the 3 degree temps we were dressed for it! So much excitement, and so fun to see the floats live, and to see the equestrians ride down Colorado Blvd. See you in Montana Annie! Giddy Up

  2. Great blog and photos! Feel like I was there lol…

Thanks Rachel, it was a great day and really great to see these riders from Equest Fest ride down Colorado Blvd and cheer them on. I would highly recommend this event.
      Happy Trails

  3. Thanks! That’s my little guy, Zak, with the Victorian Roses Ladies Riding Society, who appears to be racing Luke, the Belgian draft horse. He is an 11 year old Miniature Horse.

    • Lisa J. Hoover

Zak is ADORABLE, absolutely precious! Luke the Belgian is gorgeous as well. We really enjoyed the riders and their beautiful costumes, we were amazed to learn that the ladies in the group had made them! Thanks for stopping by! Later this week we will be having a new post on My Western Heart’s trip to Whitefish Montana, please come back and check us out! Happy New Year!

  4. Hi – that’s one of the best photos of my little guy I’ve ever seen…his name is Zak. I agree, he stole the show! 😉 He is my 12 year old Miniature Horse that was an abuse case that I rescued. He was locked in a stall from 6 months to 4 years old when I got him. I taught him how to drive and I drive him with the Victorian Roses Ladies Riding Society. May I have permission to use that photo? I will gladly put your name if you tell me exactly how you would like it. I’d love to tell everyone that photo.

    Thanks!
