How to Organize Your Tack Room

The Holidays are over and it’s time to organize your tack room

How does this happen? Every year at this time my tack room looks like a bomb went off!! Chalk it up to shorter days and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, things are bound to get a little messy. During the holidays, with all the fun parties, Christmas events and shopping I can hardly find time to ride, let alone keep my tack room clean and tidy.

How to organize your tack room

First of all, how about a little music to lighten the mood, how about a little Kacey Musgraves.  I like to get rid of all unused and broken tack. I just don’t need it, but I know a cowgirl that does. Here name is Hollie, also known as Hollie the blanket lady.  She makes some amazing purses by repuposing old cowboy boots and tack. She also makes bracelets and other fun jewelry too. Take a look! She can save you lots of money on those old blankets that need a patch or new strap. Contact her today via Facebook. A lady with many talents for sure!

Once You Have Organized Your Tack, Clean It

Grab your favorite cleaning product and go to town, get all that dirt, foam and trail dust off and make your tack shine. What is your favorite products? I love to hear from readers about what they use, please feel free to share.

Purchase Items to Help Organize Your Tack Room

Last year I purchased a few new saddle racks to mount on the wall, boy these have been a life saver! Saddles I am not using are up and out of the way, ones that I should maybe sell but might need for that new horse or special event. I mean really a gal can’t have too many saddles right? Some women collect shoes… for me it’s saddles.

Anyway, now that my tack room is clean, organized and smelling great I am  back to my studio working on some new items for Spring. I can’t wait to share them with you! Thanks for saddling up and riding along today, until next time, happy, healthy trails! Don’t forget to share your favorite products for cleaning and organizing your tack room, leave a comment.
