As I mentioned in my last post, Whitefish Montana, I was pretty excited to stay in a lodge as most of our travel is done in the camping world. Boss Man’s idea of a hotel is “hook ups” in a campground. He’s pretty rustic, if you know what I mean. While he LOVES to CAMP, I just love to camp, I like me some hook ups too!
So when I heard we were going to stay in a lodge I was over the top excited, but when I went online to see where we were staying, I didn’t find much and was…disappointed.
If I could have done a back flip in the front seat of the car, I would have! If the charming drive through the town of Whitefish didn’t get me stirred up enough, The Lodge at Whitefish Lake did! Again, I don’t want to rely on words, but hopefully some photos that will inspire you to add this to your bucket list. To me a pictures speaks a thousand words.
Saddle up, let’s go!
The grand front door of The Lodge At Whitefish Lake.
And if you are cold, warm up by the outside fire at the front entry.
Everything is decorated so beautifully for Christmas, and this is the week after New Years. I am completely over the top thrilled. This is the check in area. Beautiful wood and fixtures everywhere.
And seriously, who doesn’t love a Santa Hat wearing grizzly bear in the lodge entry?
Christmas decorations were around every corner, I was so worried they would all be gone by morning…
But they weren’t, they stayed up the entire time of our trip. It was great to have time to enjoy them.
A peaceful sitting area for a good book, hugs from a loved one or just quiet time, nicely decorated and so cozy.
Several mounts graced the rustic walls of The Lodge At Whitefish Lake
My only regret is that I did not take more photos of our room. The reason I didn’t is because we are messy, even with daily maid service, which was a real treat for this busy mom!
Every detail of the room was perfect, from the soft down comforter topped with an adorable teddy bear and Denali fleece blanket, to the sliding wooden barn doors between the bathroom and sleeping area. The bathroom was beautiful, it had rustic tiles, a large relaxing tub and shower. A coffee maker, fridge and microwave came in very handy after a long day of hitting the slopes, some nights after a great day of skiing we were too tired to go out for dinner. The large wardrobes were so spacious, complete with soft fluffy white robes to use while visit the pool and spa. Just what ones needs after a day of skiing, speaking of skiing, in my next post I will be writing about Whitefish Mountain Resort, a quick 10 minute drive from The Lodge At Whitefish Lake.
Overall, our stay at The Lodge At Whitefish Lake was top notch, no detail went unnoticed. The staff was exceptional, especially when I left my phone charger in the room and called them 10 times to see if they found it. They offered to bring it to the airport for me. What service! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. If I were a rating type of gal, I would rate it at 5 STARS! Will we go back? Yea!! That would be YES! Hopefully the photos have convinced you to add this to your bucket list. What’s on your bucket list, would love to hear! Drop a comment now. Thanks for stopping by, until next time Happy, Healthy Trails!
PS I recently Googled The Lodge At Whitefish Lake, and guess what, they must have updated their website, it now reflects the unique and special qualities that this beautiful lodge has to offer.
It looks like a lovely place to stay (and far more my style than camping lol). Always nice to have a fancy room for a bit 🙂
It was a welcome treat! Perfect place to hang out after the holidays and beat those post holiday blues! Thanks for stopping by! Check out our next post as we go skiing
I’m not sure I’d be getting a midnight snack with a stuffed bear standing guard! Haha but the place looks beautiful!

Sounds and looks like a charming and very welcome change of pace for you. And how nice to be surprised by how much better it was than you had even imagined! Yes, I also believe pictures say so much more than words very often and your photo journal gave a very alive view of what the lodge was like. Thanks for sharing your surprise adventure, Lisa!
Thanks for traveling along Beverley! I am glad the photos helped out too, a picture speaks a thousand words. Stop in again! Love your blog Beverley!
This lodge looks amazing! I love the fireplace with the comfy and cozy decor. I can definitely see myself snuggled up!
It was so cozy, and well planned out. The Denali fleece blankets were amazing!! One thing I forgot to mention was fire places in the rooms, really made it perfect! thanks for stopping by
I stayed in lodges when I travelled some of the canyons. Loved being so in nature. So different from being in fancy hotels. Much prefer the natural environments and your trip seemed wonderful.
We love lodges too, one of our favorites is the Awhanee in Yosemite, we visit it every time we visit, but have not stayed there. They also have the best chili ever! thanks for stopping by Roslyn! I enjoy your website 🙂
Looks like a great place to visit! I love the decorations and especially the bear in the hat! Thanks so much for sharing!
The bear was really fun and BIG! thanks for stopping by, come again
This looks like an awesome place for the perfect vacation, Lisa! The interior decoration are a lot like Great Wolf Lodge, a place we use to go quite often. So cozy and nice 🙂
Delia, where is the Great Wolf Lodge, I am going to Google it. We are always looking for new places. Thanks as always for stopping by and supporting My Western Heart.
